Meet the 2024-2025 YWL Team!
Meet Kaysie Leong: Hi! I’m Kaysie Leong, a senior at Live Oak High School. This year I am fortunate enough to be able to be one of the co-leads for YWL! During school, I am a part of many school clubs such as the Mental Wellness Club, Peer Counseling, etc. and I have been playing golf and swim with my school for the past four years! Besides YWL and school, I love to try out new recipes when I cook/bake and have been a swimmer on the Morgan Hill Makos for the past ten years!
Meet Sofia Ruiz-McGinty:
Hi! I’m Sofia, a senior at Live Oak High School, where I’ve had the exciting opportunity to found our Mock Trial Club, where we simulate the practice of law as attorneys. I also lead Diversify Our Narrative, National Honor Society, and am proud to run on the cross-country team! Outside of school, I’m passionate about environmental advocacy as the leader of the Morgan Hill Youth Climate Action Team, working to promote sustainability in our local government. In my free time, I love hiking, reading, and discovering new music! I have been in YWL for two years now! A fun fact about me is that I love Hamilton the musical!
Meet Ishq Kandhra: I am a junior at Ann Sobrato High School, and I am an active member in my school community. I am apart of ASB on campus, School site council, and I cater for schools! I am interested in business and culinary arts.
Meet Kaylyn Nguyen : Hi I’m Kaylyn, a senior at Ann Sobrato High School and have been apart of YWL for three years. Some things that I’m involved in are numerious bands, such as marching band, jazz band, etc. I also have been swimming competitively since that age of five. Outside of school, I love going outdoors and exploring, listening to all types of music and trying different foods!!
Meet Avery Schwalen: I go to Britton, I went to Tech Trek this past summer, I play competitive soccer. A fun fact about me is that I am the main editor of my schools television show.
Meet Natalie Brinquis: I go to Lewis H. Britton middle school, and I’m in eight grade. I participate in all school sports and play tennis outside of school.
Meet Inès Van Crayelynghe: I am a senior at Live Oak High School. I like to play the piano and read. I am an active member of the Mental Wellness Club and Banned Books club at school. I am also a part of the tennis and badminton team. A fun fact about me is that I love to travel and learn new languages!
Meet Hareen Toor: I go to Sobrato High School and I like to swim. I have been an active member of YWL for three years. A fun fact about myself is that I love to eat!
Meet Isha Toor: I attend Sobrato High School and some extra-curriculars I do include, swimming, tennis, and clubs like investment club, asu, etc. I have been apart of YWL for about 3 years. A random fact about myself is that I was born in Malaysia!
Meet Cailyn Fang: I am currently a Sophomore at Ann Sobrato High School. I am on the Sobrato swim team and water polo team. I’ve been a member of YWL for three years. My favorite animal is a Giant Panda.
Meet Hansika Bharol: Hello! I am Hansika I go to GECA and I participate in leadership activities at school. I am apart of EDRC (Eating Disorder Resource Center), and Mind4Youth. Here I help spread awareness about mental health. I have been in YWL for two years now. I have been playing the piano and tennis since I was 7!
